There's no Ikea store where I live; the nearest is roughly 30 miles away & I currently don't have a car .. so my wallet is safe, for now. I do have a 2-seater sofa from there in the loft & it's pretty solid, had this for getting on for 20 years, so can't complain about the quality of at least some of their stuff.

I moved it to the side when I brought the 3-seater sofa-bed up here so it's mostly used by guests these days .. and the cats, of course, when they're not on me. One of them is curled up on the cushion as I type this. :)

Jokes and irony are part of MY language. My wife is definitely my partner. Although I do tend to wait on her hand and foot, that is not because of subjugation but because I love her and she is very unwell.

I agree with the earlier statement about a trip to Ikea not being a minute affair. You cannot just "pop in" for a quick look, the way they "force" you to go through the entire store is good marketing. There are shortcuts if you know the store well. I have found a few, but you still must go through a large portion of the store.

Although the range is somewhat limited, their cafeteria is good value and, if you are on a tight budget, you could afford to go there for a "decent" meal. i.e. better than fish and chips.

I hate their stores, particularly when you know exactly what you want but have to traipse miles round the store to get from entrance to exit.
I went to Ikea store once... I'm still there trying to get out

It's a good thing they have WiFi so you can read this forum!

I live close to an IKEA store and we go there every now and then. Often enough to know the shortcuts, including the way to enter the store through the registers if you only want something from the big storage hall and don't want the scenic route!
Also, when used as a roadside restaurant, IKEA beats McDonalds hands down.
