I've been getting this message from Logwatch for awhile and wonder if anyone knows when the ClamAV repository will be updated:
WARNING: Your ClamAV installation is OUTDATED!
WARNING: Local version: 0.100.3 Recommended version: 0.101.2
All other Clam files are reported up to date in Logwatch.

Re: ClamAV Repository Update
That comes to Mint through the Ubuntu repository. Mint has no control over when it gets updated.
OTOH, if your virus database is current, probably not worth worrying about.
For that matter, ClamAV itself probably isn't worth worrying about, but that's a separate topic.

Thanks for the insight.
I'm curious about your closing comment. Do you recommend a different AV tool or do you feel it's overkill?

Re: ClamAV Repository Update
Yep, forget ClamAV or any AV. Simply not needed on Linux & they give you false positives more often than not.
Re: ClamAV Repository Update
What they said. In particular, I think Firejail (mentioned in the linked article) is much more useful.
Re: ClamAV Repository Update
No, you don't need AV software in Linux unless you're actually running a server like a mail server. Which few Mint users will. In fact Clam isn't even a general purpose AV program like all those WIndows ones, it's designed for mail servers.
