Yes, try to rename any folder within Spypoint
Still does not function correctly !!!
When I try to create new folder instead of giving me the input prompt just under the folder, it places input prompt in the status line at the bottom of the window.

you can't rename any folder within Spypoint?
No, like I said it places the prompt in the WRONG place, when I type "test" at that prompt and hit return, nothing happens - name of
folder stays the same.

First, when in File Manager, go into Pictures and right-clik on Spypoint. On the Permissions tab, is there a error warning about permissions?
I'm not sure what you mean when you say "it places the prompt in the WRONG place".

Let me see if I can get you a screenshot of what it is doing - give me a minute or two. No, no error on permissions listing.
Now all of a sudden it just started working correct again - see the attached screenshot.
See where it is prompting for the name of the new folder just under the icon of the folder, well when
it was not working correctly it was placing the naming prompt at the end of the slot where is gives
the 155 gb remaining info.

Ah, I see. Try renaming other folders to see if the problem persists.
Boy, I sure would like to know what was causing this problem (other than, I just was not holding
my mouth correct) !!!
Both creation of new folders and renaming function seems to be working now.
Why did it not working initially after running the commands, and then all of a sudden
it started working correctly, is there some kind of lag in those attributes taking place ?

What caused this, do I need to be concerned about this happening again in the future ?
Also, I just came across a great tool that you might be interested in. It's in the Software Manager, called Gnome Commander. Much easier to view and set ownership and permissions and setting the option for recursively affecting files (files and folders that are under the current folder),
If and when you install it, you will want to run it as root. There's an option in it's File menu, but that doesn't work anymore with more recent Mint because it's trying to use outdated commands to run as root.
I've edited Gnome Commander in my menu (I use Xfce) and put sudo gnome-commander as the command.
