What is in Ubuntu 18.04.3 that is of importance?
If you're looking for a greener Linux pasture, you won't find any that is greener than Linux Mint. ;)

Because Linux Mint releases are based on Ubuntu long term support releases. And so, the whole Linux Mint 19 series is based on Ubuntu 18.04 LTS.

I agree. I found it quite easy to look up. I found it here https://itsfoss.com/linux-mint-19-2-release/ but there are tons of other places where that information can be found.

I expect a 'thank you'.

root email would be the most direct: https://www.linuxmint.com/contactus.php

or developer group members: memberlist.php?mode=group&g=18

thanks for that, but the reason for asking here is so when the question is answered more than just one person will see the answer.

This is not the area for support nor for asking questions. This is for releases & announcements.

Plus, stomping your feet and acting like a child doesn't foster an atmosphere for responses with your demand:

Mod note:
Question split off from an announcement thread. Announcement theads are not the place to ask questions.

If you'd only stomped your feet you'd have been fine though.

Hello, MrGrimm.

Actually Mint 19.2 could hardly be based on Ubuntu 18.04.3, because their development processes crossed.
So waiting for Ubuntu 18.04.3 would have meant to delay the release date of Mint 19.2.

Yet, what you really had in mind, was the kernel question:
In the past Mint minor releases .2 and .3 brought along the most recent Ubuntu HWE kernels.
For Mint 19.2 this would indeed have meant that the Mint 19.2 ISO images might have brought along Linux kernel 5.0.0 instead of 4.15.0.

Why the decision has been made to stay with kernel 4.15.0 instead can only be answered by the Linux Mint developer team.

Best regards,
Karl

Please do some more research before posting such bold statements. It would have entailed more than just a "few extra days". Everything would have needed extensive further testing on the renewed code base, before reliably stable iso's could be spun.

Now the real question is: would it have been worthwhile to delay Mint 19.2 by weeks or more? Apparently the Mint devs thought not. That's a reasonable point of view, even though the opposite view would have been reasonable as well.

If you don't like it: ask your money back.
