(SOLVED)Laptop Wifi no Detected

Post by Hakase Hamdani » Sat Sep 07, 2019 12:39 am

Hi, so just straight to the point,
I new to linux, i just install it dual boot with win 10 a few days ago. And i love it, the lightweightness of it. But, there's a problem that bother me much, and even frustate me so much.

I simply can't connect to internet. I already try ethernet from my office, get permission, set up it, but no. But what i need is the wifi driver. So, the questions is how i can install driver to my lappy offline? Currently i connect to this forum via Windows.

I ask this because i know my laptop is currently don't have the needed driver.

So, my chipset is Realtek RTL8723DE. Running 64-bit amd and Linux Mint 19.2 Cinnamon.
My linux installation is preety much useless without internet.

Please generate an overview of your system like this:
- Launch a terminal window (this is how to launch a terminal window);
- make the terminal window full screen, to avoid chopped lines;
- Copy/paste this command into the terminal:

Code: Select all

inxi -Fxz
(if you type: the letter F is a capital letter)

Press Enter.

Copy/paste the output in your next message.

Do the same with the following four commands:

Code: Select all

rfkill list all

Code: Select all

iwconfig

Code: Select all

lsusb

Code: Select all

lspci

1. Installing this driver should help:

(item 8 )

2. As it's an HP, you'll probably need to switch the antenna selection as well:
https://easylinuxtipsproject.blogspot.c ... k.html#ID2
(item 2)

Don't forget to change rtl8723be in the example code, by rtl8723de.

Good to hear! You're welcome. :)

Don't forget to disable kernel updates or you will lose your wifi again.

Or if you want to have a newer kernel anyway: first delete the folder with the new driver in your /home, before you repeat the installation. Because what's in that folder has been tailored to your current kernel by means of 'make'.
