Desktop - Cinnamon 19.1 Keeps Dropping Wifi

Afternoon. Just installed Cinnamon 19.1 in my desktop a few weeks ago. Pleased with the distro in general, not so happy with the wifi capability. It continually drops my wifi with no discernable cause. I am using a Panda PAU09 wifi adapter.

My wife and I are using Comcast Broadband. The signal is VERY strong and consistent (checked it with two very highly regarded independent sources). My wife never has had any wifi connectivity problems with either her Laptop (running Windows) or her iPad. We also have no wifi connectivity issues with our Roku for our Tvs downstairs or upstairs. And I had not wifi problems when I was running Windows on my desktop prior to switching to Linux. So, the problem is clearly not the internet signal nor my desktop.

I love Cinnamon so far, but this has gone from being a minor annoyance to an ongoing frustration. I would greatly appreciate any and all help to resolve the wifi issue.

Please post an inxi -Fxz report. This will give us a concise overview of your hardware and on how Mint sees it.

Here is how to generate the report and post it:

Open a terminal window (Ctrl-Alt-t). Make it fullscreen to avoid unneeded linebreaks or chopped lines. Execute the command

I just completed the Terminal Task and have the detail you requested, but can you provide a little additional detail about moving this info onto the clipboard. Where is the clipboard you are referencing? I am still unfamiliar with these aspects of Cinnamon.

You don't have to see or open the clipboard. Having something in the clipboard just means it's in the computer's memory buffer and ready to be pasted. That's not a Cinnamon thing or even a Linux thing; on Windows this is exactly the same.

systemctl restart network-manager.service

That will keep Network Manager from enabling wifi power management

Jeremy, after reviewing a number of comments last night regarding this problem, I followed the advice of one of your colleagues who posted Linux Mint suggestions several months ago at It's Foss about ways to address this issue for Mint wifi users. He had also recommended turning Power Management "Off." So, I followed his directions into the Terminal and changed my wifi powersave number from 3 to 2. And after saving and then rebooting, confirmed Power Management was now turned "Off."

Unfortunately, this step provided no benefit at all. The same dropping of my wifi connection continued.

Check iwconfig results and it might be an issue with the wifi encryption as TKIP usually causes issues
