Wifi very slow in Linux Mint

Post by oscar325 » Sun Sep 01, 2019 5:24 pm

Hi,
My wifi very often gets slow (using Linux Mint 19,2 Cinnamon) I belive its the system problem in Linux Mint cause it is a good wifi, worked fine before installed Linux, and works fine on other devices such as Android and Windows computers. Does anyone know how to fix it? I was thinking of buying a Wifi adapter for Linux, might that help? Or is it something I should install or a setting I should change? Thank you on forhand for helping.

Code: Select all

cat wireless-info.txt | nc termbin.com 9999

Hi Jeremy, have have followed some of your replies closely... thanks for your contribution!

I have just posted the information you requested to the guy above. You may read that I have an AC9650 wifi card that is very very slow in mint 19 specially the 5 GHz band. you had posted a script the beginning of this year that took care of the issue 1.5 months ago. I guess one of the updates has overwritten the modifications you imposed. Could you please, unless you have better ideas, post that script again? Thanks so much

Slow 5GHz WI-Fi

Post by sepimarsha » Sun Sep 15, 2019 1:11 am

Hi

the P52 uses an AC9650 wifi card which works well in Windows. WiFi in Linux, specially that on the 5 GHz band is really slow. We have a "GB" connection but the download speeds do not exceed 2MBs in Mint 19.2. We had this problem 1.5 months ago, but I found a script posted by JeremyB that took care of the problem. I cannot find this script again. Should anybody have this script, barring any better solutions please post it!

Thanks so much

Sean
