How to remove silly quotes from terminal

Post by vinoman »

I just installed Mint 7 64 bit. How do you get rid of the annoying quotes in the terminal? The last Mint I used was Mint 5 and it let you turn them off after initial install. Now you get them if you like them or not.

Some people like the "fortune" quotes - it gives Mint a distinct old terminal Unix days sort of style.
Anyways, edit the file /etc/bash.bashrc and comment out the last line "/usr/bin/mint-fortune".
