Surely that depends on whether you are German or Swedish. The Ulrika I referenced is a Swede.

Catweazel, I am pretty certain that you are aware that Ulrich is the male form of the name. But Linux Mint has always been female. So only female nicknames can be used.

On that note, one of the members of the Mint dev team really wanted the code name to be Tove after Linus Torvalds' Finnish wife. I thought that was inappropriate though so I'm glad that didn't end up being it.

I already expressed my concerns about "U" and female first names last year... I didn't find my post in the Mint Forums anymore, but it's not important.

Ulrike as a variation of Ulrich - is simply ugly...
Ursula - is at least in Europe a problem (in my opinion a big one...)
Modifications of "Ursula" are a bit unimaginative.
Una - as a connection with the bomber is also disqualified...

Further (nice) female first names with "U" ... ?

as long as ™ isn't there, maybe simply go with 'Windows'...

Replacing Xplayer with Celluloid / Gnome MPV on the other hand, along with aptik, seem to be very good choices.
I'd suggest maybe also replacing the venerable xed with Geany and a minty colorscheme...
