I have no idea what problem you mean.
Yeah, me neither, besides two members of my family have a variation of that name, so don't diss it.

I was actually very surprised nobody had brought that one up yet. ;)

It's not far from Ursula to Ursa which is Latin for bear. Make of that what you will.

Yeah, me neither
He probably means the *cough* less than stellar Ursula von der Leyen...

Anyway: "Ursula" reminds me first and foremost of my aunt Ulla (full name: Ursula). She was a good lady.

Oh lol, now that makes so much more sense than the bear reference. Well, you know my opinion about her, but I don't think that should affect Linux distribution naming.

Stellar? Well the Great Bear is a constellation of stars and hence stellar by definition.

I would love to see a reference to that wholly remarkable book, the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. In fact, the most remarkable book ever to come out of the great publishing corporations of Ursa Minor.
Tricia (McMillan) or
Trillian (same person in a different universe. Not parallel BTW)

Touchwood would be fine too, but was it female ??

Another vote for Ursa for the next generation :)
Minor or Major ....

[nit-picking mode] In Latin, "bear" is "ursus", not "ursa". [/nit-picking mode]

Hehe ... I got it from that wholly remarkable book. Douglas Adams speaks of Ursa Minor so it must be correct

[nit-picking nit-picking mode] Ursa is the female form. Foreign concept to the English language, but I thought you'd have that in Dutch. [/nit-picking nit-picking mode]

(finally it pays off to have learned latin in school )

Is there a problem? I've no issues with 19.3 as a name, in fact, I'd have to look up what it's "name" is let alone upcoming, or for that fact, old, names.

Too late for a change I guess.
There is a YouTube channel called Don't Trust The Rabbit, run by a gal from the north of Germany, Trixi. Very nice lady, very thoughtful videos. It would be cool beyond words if a future release was called "Trixi" and I would certainly send her an email about it.

Tricia would have fit the 'rules' for 19.3. It starts with a T, ends with an A, and alphabetically it comes after Tina. So that would have worked.

So did I, but I had never heard that there existed a female form of ursus.... but indeed: "ursa" *is* being used for two stellar constellations.

If it's valid, "Ursula" must literally mean "little she-bear". Pure Latin, but originally exclusively used in Germanic languages. We live in a strange and wondrous world. Well, one lives and learns....

Now let's try to explain to those English why the Dutch and German words for "girl" (Dutch: "meisje", German: "Mädchen"), are neutral instead of feminine.

Because they're in the diminutive form. Done!

This is why my cat has no hope for the human race.

I tried explaining to him once why we humans write down our meows. I also tried explaining to him there are completely different sets of human meows — like Ingrish, or Dutch, or Deutsch, or even French — and I swear, he looked at me like I had two heads. Seriously.
