Emacs 22 (GTK) - can use Monospace? (default terminal)

Post by menuhin »

Hi all Linux Mint users,

I am trying to set my Emacs 22 (GTK) to use the default Linux Mint terminal's Monospace font (I think that's beautiful)
I followed this website (http://peadrop.com/blog/2007/01/06/pretty-emacs/):
echo "Emacs.font: Monospace-10" >> ~/.Xresources
xrdb -merge ~/.Xresources

But have been getting a no font match error message, and I think that the instruction is for XEmacs instead of Emacs.

Did any of you successfully set your Emacs to use the default Monospace font? Thanks!

Found a relevant post, end up have to use Emacs 23 snapshot instead of the stable version in distro
