Hello.
Need some help please.
Just started my PC that I installed Mint on quite a while ago, and have this on the screen:
error: no such partition.
Entering rescue mode...
grub rescue_
Never seen this before and don't know what to do. I've tried my password that I normally use when the PC starts but to no avail.
I've tried restarting it obviously but the same thing comes up and I can't get any further.
Any ideas?

Forget the above. I'm reinstalling Mint.

what that error usually means, is that the Grub Loader can't find the correct Linux partition:
- the one that it's Linux System is located upon.
therefore, it drops to an Grub Prompt.
it can also mean, that the partition is missing / deleted / it's UUID is now changed.
- or, the HDD is failing .. ..
