question about pidgin
my buddy list i have showing on right hand side, pidgin shows buddy list tab in taskbar and a pidgin icon over by the clock how do i make it so my buddy list icon is showing but not makin a tab of its own?

short answer: you don't. The "tabs" are the items in the Window List which will display all open windows. You can keep pidgin running, but close the window and you'll remove the "tab". If you have the pynotify plugin enabled, you'll receive notifications when people come online.
