Longtime Windows user, new to Linux

I've used Windows since, well DOS v.something. Faced with Windows 7 EOL, I chose to switch to Linux rather than upgrade to Windows 10, which I've hated every encounter I've had with.

I installed some version of Linux alongside Windows many years ago but just didn't find much use for it. When faced with a choice at the end of Windows 7 support, I was delighted to find Linux had come such a long way to user-friendliness for Windows users. Last week, I installed Linux Mint Cinnamon on my hard drive (pulled my SSD w/ Windows on it, jic) and it went without a hitch. Been having a blast since. Now I'm one of those thinking to myself, "Why didn't I do this sooner?"

Looking forward to becoming a longtime Linux user.

I said the same words myself of not doing this earlier when i converted in 2016 when i had my fill of Win 10 nonsense...welcome to the forums...DAMIEN

I have a feeling there will be a flood of Win 7 refugees here (including me). Please be patient with us since we have so much to unlearn.
