Just installed Linux Mint cinnamon 19.3
I find that folder files are not listed in alphabetical order.
How do I correct this? Step by step please.
Thanks for any help!

Re: Folder files not listed in alphabetical order
Screenshot? By default they should be listed in order. My folders are listed before my files and all in alphabetical order? Which file manager are you using?

Re: Folder files not listed in alphabetical order
I'm using mate 19.3, and if I click on the top in the column header it sorts for that column, click again and it reverses the order.
So clicking the top of the name column sorts for alphabetical order, clicking in the date column sorts for date, etc.
And every linux distro I've used behaves that way

No worries mate, It's a very useful function, I use it a lot.

Re: Folder files not listed in alphabetical order
You sound like a fellow Aussie mate. Anyway I have the same problem where the first half of folders are indeed in order, and then for some strange reason the other half are not. Even renaming the a folder to "A" will not move it at all.
As you can see... just clicking the "Date Modified" only reverses the order but neither is alphabetical, and the Date Modified label does not change either. Bit weird to say the least.
I am using XFCE

Re: Folder files not listed in alphabetical order
I'm suggesting that your "Date Modified" field is also sorting according to time and then sorting by name. Have a look in Nemo <Edit><Preferences><Display>under "Date:Format:" change it to show date and time, then look at your list again.
