Upgrade Libreoffice (Resolved)

I have LinuxMint 19.2 with LibreOffice 6.0.7.3 which is the Synaptic Package. The new version of Libreoffice is 6.3.3, how can I get it installed without the Synaptic Package Manager?

Via Software Manager, that's what it's there for. The flatpak has the latest version. Best remove the installed version first so you do not get confused into which to use later on.

If you wish to avoid Flatpaks (like I), and you wish to get updates for it from time to time, this PPA is the best way:

It's much better to use packages from this PPA for that purpose, than to use the *.deb files that The Document Foundation provides upstream. Because those are intentionally built against a very old baseline for maximum compatibility, which is a disadvantage for modern operating systems like Linux Mint 19.x.

Am running LM 19.3, just upgraded to LibreOffice 6.4.3 using a flatpak. Now I am hearing some disconcerting remarks about using flatpaks. How bad is a flatpak installation in this instance?

Not bad at all. It's just that Flatpaks have certain disadvantages, none of which should concern you if you keep their number down and make sure that your Timeshift snapshots don't get out of hand.
