Anyway, I'm looking to play cities skylines & I'm wondering what is the best way to go about this. I've installed & setup Steam but have some reservations about it. I've heard there are some differences in games with steam that are not as good as the regular releases. (I don't know if that's true) I also don't know if the games will run well for me on linux or will it run better on windows?
Basically I'm trying to buy the game & play on linux, but I don't want to screw myself & not be able to boot windows if need be. I've never used Wine, or anything else & haven't found specific info on how it is used ( newbie explanation ) Basically i'm just getting ready to start doing some gaming on linux & since almost everything is written for windows, when looking at requirements everything says windows & nothing says linux. Kinda poopy figuring out what works while not getting burned in the wallet.
I'm kinda leaning away from steam. (i'm assuming once you make a purchase, since your contact info is verified, i'll get bombarded with junkmail offers & e-mail spam. ) & leaning towards Amazon since i'm already a prime member. I was looking here -> https://www.amazon.com/Cities-Skylines- ... r=8-1&th=1. by Colossal Order Platform : Windows | DRM: Steam <- does that mean I can run it in steam even if I bought it from amazon? (probably a stupid question)
any help is appreciated, I'm dead new to linux gaming.
