No adapters found for Bluetooth (Linux Mint 19.3)

Post by nictinastia »

Hi, asking for help to configure Bluetooth since it doesn't work in Linux Mint 19.3 just installed in an old Dell Inspiron 1525

I'd like to link this thread first because my problem has similar characteristics to the one described in there:
viewtopic.php?f=49&t=320322&p=1818069&h ... h#p1818069

so the output for

Code: Select all

sudo dmesg | grep -i Blue
, after typing "sudo dmesg | grep -i Blue", was:

Code: Select all

[ 563.386353] Bluetooth: Core ver 2.22
[ 563.386401] Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized
[ 563.386408] Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized
[ 563.386412] Bluetooth: L2CAP socket layer initialized
[ 563.386419] Bluetooth: SCO socket layer initialized
and I've got kernel 5.3.0-53-generic x86_64

output for

Code: Select all

sudo lsusb | grep Bluetooth
is:
Bus 007 Device 002: ID 0a5c:4500 Broadcom Corp. BCM2046B1 USB 2.0 Hub (part of BCM2046 Bluetooth)
(I guess that's the name of the bluetooth adapter?)

well, hope this information gives some light to start

Hello,

I have the same problem, bluetooth stopped working in version 19.3
Im working on a intel NUC5i5RYB for some time now without any issues
There is a onboard Intel® Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 available
I have tried to install the intel driver (iwlwifi-7265-ucode-25.30.14.0) in the /lib/firmware folder without any success :(
I did a clean install of mint 19.3 but no changes what so ever
Even did an install of Ubuntu 20.04, but that gave the same issue

some details are:
uname -r gives 5.3.0-53-generic
execute sudo dmesg | grep -i Blue gives;
[ 1539.100434] Bluetooth: Core ver 2.22
[ 1539.100501] Bluetooth: HCI device and connection manager initialized
[ 1539.100510] Bluetooth: HCI socket layer initialized
[ 1539.100516] Bluetooth: L2CAP socket layer initialized
[ 1539.100524] Bluetooth: SCO socket layer initialized

dmesg gives these errors:
