Hello. I am a Linux user since 2007 summer. I switched to Linux because i wanted all my software to be legal and as free as possible.
I am happy with the result.
Started from Gentoo, i now use Debian based distributions, because it is more easy to setup such a system and uses less resources - does not need compiling.
I am here to express my point of view about Mint as it is and as would be.
I am MATE desktop user.

Yes, it is. :) All Debian is like a cup sweet tea, compared to Gentoo... :) Main reason, why i switched is that i want my computer to stay longer and not overheat during any package compilation. I too am into LTS releases only and into MATE dekstop. Now, only Linux Mint by default offers this, because Ubuntu Mate, for example, is only 3 years LTS... Mint is 5. :)
