Can you point out an online swf game that I could test?

Anyway, if you have wine, Adobe's flashplayer_32_sa.exe plays .swf movies which I couldn't play by other methods.

Edit: if you install wine to run flashplayer, follow the instructions in the Mint 20 release notes, DON'T follow the instructions on the wine website.

From

First pic: firefox doesn't display the game, and the suggested smplayer just whined.

flashplayer_32_sa.exe could play the game (click to embiggen):

On Mint 19.3 interactive content in gnash bugged out anyway. But Adobe Flash Player is also in the repositories and it works fine.

It don't worked for me either, as I said above. What worked is the 32-bit windows Adobe flash player running in wine.

Edit Your mplayer error seems to be the about the theme, not the flash - try changing the theme...
