Hi friends,
A question here about using LM Cinnamon on battery...
It looks like the battery is emptying quickly compared to Windows.
FYI: In on the battery and within one hour it drops from 100 to 40 percent.
I already use TLP but are there any other suggestions to get some more time when using LM on a battery?
It's not a big deal for me, I just want to understand why LM on battery loose energy quicker than Windows. And maybe get some ideas about what can be done besides installing TLP.
..
My system is 2x SSD, Intel I7, NVIDIA card but on power save, and I use LM Cinnamon latest version with kernel 5.8.0.23.
Looking forward to your response.
Kind regards, Johan

Re: Linux MInt Cinnamon battery emptying quick
The hardware support for linux is not as evolved as for Windows. Your hardware was designed for Windows and will always be more efficient running it. If you have switchable graphics then using the Intel GPU when not encoding video or gaming will help a lot.

Noticed identical behaviour also mint20c produces more screen brightness at 2 different PC as windows.
Testing with (Mint 20) and Garuda KDE Dr460nized right now: "2011: ASUS is proud to deliver the world's first ultrabook..." ASUS ZenBook UX31E (now quadruple boot Win 7, Win 10, LM 20,Garuda KDE Dr460nized )
