The headphones were unplugged when doing that command.

As the model=aspire edit didn't help, let's remove it with this:
Then post the output of

sudo rm /etc/modprobe.d/aspire-fix.conf
ls -l /etc/modprobe.d

I think I just found the solution. If I plug in my earphones all the way, sound is weird but if I don't push it in completely until the click it works! Don't know why this is the case but sound is finally normal. Thank you for all the time and effort MrEen!

Ahh, I've seen reports of similar a few times. And it may have been with Apple earbuds!
