I right click on the weather thing in the lower right toolbar, preferences, Location, and a I add Cobourg America/Toronto no problem. I click on the Weather tab and Select C for temp unit and km/h for wind speed.
Today (SUN) there is snow and clouds and cool temps but I see the sun and 0 C on the toolbar.
If I mouse over the sun on the toolbar it says "unknown location"
what's up with that?

Sometimes the particular weather station you have chosen may be off line. Try a different location see if that works.

Change the underlying weather service from the default OpenWeatherMap into MET Norway or, as you're in the USA, US National Weather.

Mine weather thing today is at least showing the correct info, but on hover says unknown.
Last night it was dark here and there was a sun in the taskbar and definitely not the correct weather....

Well, did you try another weather service in the settings, like I advised in my previous message?
