20.1 Keyboard problem

Post by dobriain »

Hi,

I upgraded to Linux Mint 20.1 Ulyssa and in general, I am happy with it, so it took a day or so for me to notice, to the point of annoyance, that repeat key function is not working. It started as I held down the left arrow key to scroll back through a command to fix an error. Then I noticed that if I hold a key down it doesn't repeat (all this was fine with the Linux Mint 20.0 Ulyana). I checked the scroll lock on the keyboard, it is off, I checked the Keyboard conf in Cinnamon:
  • Enable key repeat: ticked
  • Repeat delay: About 25% along the bar from the left
  • Text cursor blinks: About 50% along the slide bar
I then checked the appropriate dconf config paths, all looks OK.

Code: Select all

~$ dconf dump /org/cinnamon/settings-daemon/peripherals/keyboard/
[/]
delay=uint32 500
numlock-state='off'
repeat-interval=uint32 30

~$ dconf dump /org/gnome/libgnomekbd/keyboard/
[/]
layouts=@as []
options=@as []

Here is the full config.

Code: Select all
