Hi yaz!

Post by Rift Zone »

Have to say I'm happy to be here. Wiped win10 off my system a few days ago and gave Linux Mint a freshly formatted partition. Would have done it long ago but I got caught up on pc games. glad I finally made it.

Hi Rift Zone!

Welcome to the Linux Mint forums! :D
3 steps to find an answer: (1) Search forum with unique key words. (2) Search with Google and add site:linuxmint.com to your unique key word query. (3) Search with Google and add either Linux Mint or Ubuntu to your unique key word query.

So no gaming for you now?
Oh no, not like that! =) Though I am having gui issues that's making running things like 0 AD and qmmp challenging -4k 15" screen making some things a bit too tiny...I'll figure out how to scale those up eventually.

Hi Rift Zone!

Welcome to the Linux Mint forums! :D
Thanks guys! Happy to report I'm not a total noob to Linux... For more of a proper introduction: I'm a GenX science geek looking to expand my horizons. Got a DOS box as a kid and got fairly decent on command line interface with it. Even got me a RHEL box set up while working as a low level support tech in college; played with it long enough to not be totally lost on the terminal. Now I'm looking diving in deep and really learn the system. I imagine this to be a great resource along my way...so, thanks in advance for all your help! Thanks for this distro...thanks for everything you are. Again, very happy to be here. =)
