[solved] How to give root permission to a user

Hi.

Something very weird : my password don t fonctionne anymore.
(Yes. I m sure it s the right one coz i writted it on paper near my computer)

So i want to save some files.
But no right to modify files with user cession.
I wonder to give root permission for user.

does your password work when the computer starts up?
If yes, it should be possible to restore the user rights using the measures described in the link above (such as safe, modifying or deleting your own data in your home folder).

Hi.
Unfortunatly no. Coz my hard disk is full up and system go back to ask password again and again.
( When i typing good pass, he try to run and go back ask again pass. When i typing a fake pass, he mention " wrong password")

It s why i using cd to access at the system.

But same problem. Can not modify files under invit cession. And he don t recognize pass under owner cession.

I don t care reinstall but i have to transfer very important files first.

I followed these instruction but problem still.
It s like for resolved a problem on samsung computer.
I got a asus.

What you have is a login loop where you can't log in at all. it has happened to me twice once it happened because my partition disk was full and another time when i change some file in /etc.

in the forum look up how to solve the login loop.

Yes, i know it s because partition it s full.

Finally, i resolved it in a very weird way :
Using a CD boot, i can access at my files.
But because i can not enter password, i explored all the files inside.
Some, i can not modify (the most important for me).
some other, i can.
So, I deleted a lot of them.
And when i start again, i can directly access at my cession...

No, not at all weird. You could not log in because the partition was full; you deleted some stuff, the partition was no longer full, you could log in again.
This was never a password problem or a permission problem. It was always a full partition problem.

And no, the brand of the computer is not relevant either.

No i means weird because some files i can not modify and some other one yes.
That i don t understand.
