My all time favorite game is Dragon's Lair. It was DOS based and featured animation from former Disney animator Don Bluth. I recently got it working on Linux Mint 20.1 and I have created a tutorial (viewtopic.php?f=42&t=343597) for anyone else who would like help getting it going. It's less buggy than it was on my old slow 1980s Windows 3.11 system.

I remember trying to play Dragon's Lair and Space Ace in the arcades. Emphasis on 'trying'.

If I had to pick a favourite game of all time, it would have to be the GTA series. IV and V being the best. I've spent many an hour cruising the streets of the various virtual cities. Saved me a ton in fuel money. LOL Not that I ever did the same things on the real streets.

Another game that ate quite a few hours of my time was Jane's AH64D helicopter simulator. I spent a lot of time learning to fly an attack helicopter.

Usually enjoy word games (online scrabble, crosswords and the like) and visual ones such as MahJong, but I guess the one that never tires and stays near the top of my list is...

I would have to say the King's Quest series, specifically KQ1-KQ4. These were basically puzzle-solving adventure games. They just don't make games quite like that anymore. And, yes, I know I'm showing my age :D

I would say Diablo 2 is my all-time favourite game. No other hack n slash has come close, and it has ruined the genre for me!

Other titles I have spent far too much time on are:

Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare
Eastside Hockey Manager 2007 (the ultimate sports management game!) Which also runs fine via Wine!
Full Time Linux Since September 2021!

Those games are available with an installer using Lutris. 1 through 3 even received a remaster that looks more in the style of KQV and don't rely on a text parser. And they are available for free:
