How about 64 bit ISO's, will they be available soon?
I have not seen a development release yet but normally the 64 bit version follows quickly after the main edition.

EDIT:
What's the difference between "LinuxMint-8-Universal.iso" and "LinuxMint-8.iso" ?

Yeah, is Universal the same as Main?
The Universal Edition has language packs right on the CD and a one click install for codecs. The Universal Edition is built for distribution in countries with patent laws like the US.

I mean't on the "8", which, the Universal or the other one? Anyways, i think it's the other one. Download froze twice after about 200-300MB so i guess i will have to be patient and download later.
It says on page 17 of the user guide,
Also make sure to assign “/” for its mount point and to
select “ext3” for its file system..
.
Ext4 worked fine in Gloria, what happened?

Ext4 here in Mint 8. All is fine. And the version needed is the 688MB one, not the 'universal'. No codecs were installed when I tried that one.

No codecs were installed when I tried that one.
There is a one click install in the menu that makes it identical with the main edition as far as codecs are concerned. I tested this and it works flawlessly.

Excellent. Very happy it works. And from the official release announcement page, here's the description of the 'Universal Edition'...
Introduction to the Universal Edition:

The Universal Edition is a customized version of the Main Edition with the following differences:

* It comes as a liveDVD instead of a liveCD
* It comes with built-in support for English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Swedish, Danish, Chinese, Korean, Portuguese/Br, Portuguese/Pt, Arabic, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Galician, Dutch, Russian, Polish, Norwegian, Japanese, Ukrainian, Romanian, Slovenian, Catalan, Greek, Czech, Slovak, Marathi, Norwegian [nynorsk], Croatian, Bulgarian, Turkish, Hindi, Finnish, Hebrew, Serbian, Belarussian, Basque and Bosnian.
* It comes with no codecs, no support for restricted formats and no proprietary components.
* It features an extra item in the Sound & Video menu which launches the installation of all missing codecs via a built-in .mint file

The purpose of the Universal Edition is to bring a localized live system to non-English speaking users of Linux Mint and to facilitate the distribution of Linux Mint in countries where software patents are enforceable (USA, Japan).
