Transparent Panels Extension Not Working After 5.4 Upgrade
The Transparant panel extension no longer works after upgrading to 5.4. Uninstalling and reinstalling it doesn't seem to help.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Transparent Panels Extension Not Working After 5.4 Upgrade
Welcome to the forum, sammycda.
I see several bug reports on GitHub: germanfr / cinnamon-transparent-panels Issues indicating others have experienced the same.

Very same problem here. This error/bug is triggering this message after every start:
"Cinnamon started successfully, but one or more applets, desklets or extentions failed to load."
Melange:
"Error Extention Transparent panels Transparentize your panels when there are no any maximized windows"
How to fix this bug? Thanx for any help in advance.

This fix works until the computer screen sleeps or reboots and then the extension needs to be turned off and turned on again.t42 wrote: ⤴Wed Aug 10, 2022 1:05 pm Working Solution posted by NiltonGM

It doesn't survive a reboot.

This morning I recopied the file and now everything seems to be working. Thanks!

Same issue, used NiltonGM's update as stated above and Transparent Panels are working like a charm.
Restrictive EULAs launched the search for the perfect alternative. So, yeah, thanks for that..........
Re: Transparent Panels Extension Not Working After 5.4 Upgrade
This is still a sometimes thing. The panel works for awhile and then stops. When the panel is not transparent, I have to disable and re-enable the extension to get it to work.
I've tried the various fixes suggested on this and other threads but this extension working 100% of the time isn't happening.

Re: Transparent Panels Extension Not Working After 5.4 Upgrade
The Transparent panels extension work flawlessly all the time on my several different systems with Cinnamon 5.4. Try to remove it and install anew an updated version, it works out of the box now. And are you aware that by definition panel transparency is switched on only when there are no maximized windows?

Re: Transparent Panels Extension Not Working After 5.4 Upgrade
Just to be clear, the extension works perfectly on Linux Mint 21 but crashes constantly on Linux Mint Debian Edition.
It appears to happen when the screen wakes up from sleeping.

Re: Transparent Panels Extension Not Working After 5.4 Upgrade
This is still happening with LMDE 5. Will the maintainer please look at this?
Thanks!
Thanks!

If you want the maintainer to look at it, you have a post an issue (or add to an existing issue) on their GitHub.
