Hi!
How big is your drive and what do you have on it?
Is the disk itself full or just the / partition?
Do you have your /home on a separate partition or not?

I don't have a solution, but I do admire the problem.

3.3G for Linux seems to me pretty thin... is it for the system only? Or does it include your /home?

I'm afraid even with cleaning up useless files you may find yourself in the same situation pretty soon. Any possibility of moving the file storage partition to another disk and increase the size of the Minty one?

so the fix is to boot of the live CD mount / and delete some of /var/log files.

once you have some room you can reboot normally.

the log file solution is to configure logrotate to delete logfiles after x days or if they get to a certain size.

so do a man on logrotate and look at /etc/logrotate.conf and /etc/logrotate.d/.

and check that if a particular log file was the culprit that is included in the logrotate config.
