Your opinions on the new Cinnamon theme chooser

Clem just made a new pull request, containing a new theme picker. What do you think?


I think it looks pretty nice, and it seems to support adding custom themes as well (so it's not hardcoded). That's very nice and shows that Clem is a good programmer
I would like a way to ship these theme mtadata files that make the theme selectable there along a theme somehow. That would be the best thing Cinnamon would have gained in years, but no problem if it isn't possible, as it's not hardcoded (so the files could still be added manually, I suppose) and the old advanced theme settings seem to be still available.

And the image shows that the first colour is blue for theme, yellow for icons. The others don't. This means the folders will be coloured.

Not sure what you mean here. This isn't offering anything new theme wise. This is exactly what you had in Mint21, just the way you select the theme is made different instead of having that huge mess of themes in a menu.

If something changes in the themes themselves that will be done separately from this.

Not sure what you mean here. This isn't offering anything new theme wise. This is exactly what you had in Mint21, just the way you select the theme is made different instead of having that huge mess of themes in a menu.

If something changes in the themes themselves that will be done separately from this.

It may be an indication.
