I just got a new to me t480s and did a fresh install of Mint 21. All went well, set my location, did the updates as well.
So far the wifi doesn't like my password, that was right off the bat. I continued with network cable.
After I did the updates, and got a few things setup and rebooted it runs fine other than the trackpoint and trackpad quit working. I don't care so much about the pad, but I like to use the trackpoint.
I can remember and issue like this a few years ago with a different computer and an earlier OS after an update, but can't remember how I got it resolved.

Re: New Install of Mint 21 on New Lenovo 480s
I'd been intending to give and update, but I had a few other things I had to do first.
I got both issues resolved, although I'm not sure just how.
I installed a lot of apps on the new computer and also moved a lot of files over to it. The files were all things from the home folder, so there shouldn't have been any system settings though.
So later last evening I unhooked the ethernet cable and thought I'd see if in doing all of that I might have done something to fix the wifi. It still didn't connect, but as I was looking through the list of available wifi connections I found two with the name of mine. One of them had a series of numbers after it, like maybe a mac address or something. So I selected this one and it worked.
r
up in a different way what involved mac address. It didn't really help with the range extender and I just abandoned that. I have an ATT supplied modem/router and I've read that is the issue. I thought I put things back the way they were the though.
I also went to see if maybe the track point was working. At first it appeared not to. I couldn't even see a cursor. Then I saw one and it was off to the side and moving very slow. So I opened up the mouse/pointer settings and the settings for speed and sensitivity were very low. So I increased both and it is working as it should. So I wonder if maybe it was always this way and it just appeared not to be working to me.
I did run the same command as you as well and the output, except for one additional entry looks identical to yours:
~$ xinput list
⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)]
⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)]
⎜ ↳ Raydium Corporation Raydium Touch System id=9 [slave pointer (2)]
