Hello !
I have set up a shortcut for changing the volume, using Setting > Keyboard > Shortcut > Sound and media
The shortcuts are "ctrl+super+pageUp" and ctrl+super+pageDown" for volume up/down ; and work fine
But they don't work anymore after a reboot.
Yet, the shortcut still appears in the settings. To have it work again, I have to unset it, then set it again... I tried with other key combination, but the problem remains
What is happening ?
Thanks

Re: Custom shortcut lost upon reboot
Open Users & Groups and create a new account for testing. Reboot and log into the new account. How does it behave there?
In any case you should at least tell the version of Mint.

Ho that's right sorry :
Under Mint 21.1, Cinnamon 5.6.8, Kernel 5.19.0-35.
Everything works well with a blank new user

Re: Custom shortcut lost upon reboot
There is a pre-set shortcut for volume change in the settings, which can only be used, if the hardware has the respective keys. Did you overwrite them with your shortcut or are they still there? (In the main account)
Re: Custom shortcut lost upon reboot
No I didn't overwrite the "special" key, I set my shortcut as the second option

Re: Custom shortcut lost upon reboot
Does this problem affect also other keyboard settings? Test it also outside of the multimedia section for shortcuts.
Re: Custom shortcut lost upon reboot
Good catch : Oddly enough, this appends only the the increase / decrease volume. I tried several others that were fine.
Even the mute/unmute works fine upon reboot

Re: Custom shortcut lost upon reboot
Another program, which catches those 2 shortcuts?
Hard to find, try this:
Open Users & Groups and create a new account for testing. Reboot and log into the new account. Set those 2 shortcuts, do otherwise nothing at all in this account. Now reboot into the test account. Do the 2 shortcuts survive?

Re: Custom shortcut lost upon reboot
Yes they do ! So somewhere, I have a program that has a user specific setting that modify my keybindings...
I know I have xbindkeys installed, but it is not used, and has no shortcut assigned. I don't know any other one

Re: Custom shortcut lost upon reboot
You wrote in the starting post, that the shortcuts stop to function after reboot. So I assume, that you have in your main account something in autostart, which gives the trouble. Add your autostart entries from the main account into the test account - one by one. At one point it should break there the shortcuts also.
