I'm not sure where to start, so looking at the reverse logs, I'm just putting anything up I can find in yellow and red.

What is this....

Code: Select all

(or try: fsck.mode=skip)

I'm really really really hoping someone can help me figure this out, so I don't have to reinstall everything again. It takes a lot of time to do all the settings.

After 4+ installs in the last few days, bugs and freezing every time, I'm ready to give up on LM and try something else.

Thanks for your help,

I'm really really really hoping someone can help me figure this out, so I don't have to reinstall everything again. It takes a lot of time to do all the settings.
Try this. clean install everything one more time ( nothing special no LVM no encryption). Don't even do any update. Try to launch Rhythmbox from a clean fresh start with absolutly nothing else touched and see if it the problem is there. If it isn't and it works as it should, then take it one tweak...one update..one thing at a time.

With each one tweak/update/thing, launch a fresh instance of Rhythmbox and check it again. As it proves to continue working. Create Timeshift snapshots targeting a separate drive.

Worst case if my idea fails......

Why not consider trying another music playing program instead. Rhythmbox isn't the only one although I've used it for literally over 10 years and never had a problem with it causing system crashes or freezing be it low end laptop hardware or my 5900x cpu 7900xtx rig. Something else must be causing this.

Also consider a newer kernel given how fairly new your cpu tech is. Create a timeshift snapshot first...then in terminal

sudo apt install linux-oem-22.04b will install 6.0.something
swap out the " b " with "c" or "a" or nothing at all will give you different kernel versions. Wouldn't hurt to give that a shot. Doing a timeshift restoration to get back to before trying newer kernels that way has never failed me.

Well, I don't think it's necessarily Rhythmbox. It might be related to suspend?

I'm trying to crack the code here, but I thought there might be a more methodical way to go about solving the problem which might correct the source of the problem.

Code: Select all

sudo apt install linux-oem-22.04b
6.0 seems to be working...

Thank you for your help.
