'Update Chrome' notification - Where is it coming from?

For the past week or so every morning I have been receiving a system notification to the effect that a new version of Chrome is available. The problem is... Chrome is not installed on the machine, and never has been (and never will be ). Is there any way to tell where this notification is coming or what process might be generating it from so I can get rid of it? Research seems to indicate that there is no notification log so is there any way to track these down? (OS is Mint 21.1/Cinnamon).

please navigate to Synaptic Package Manager ---> Installed (Upgradeable) and see if there is chromium based browser there

if there is none it might be a flatpak
please try this in the terminal

Nothing in Synaptic related to Chrome, nor any flatpak, nor any result from sudo apt list --installed | grep chrome

It did just occur to me that I do have Brave installed, which is chromium-based. Could that trigger the notification? If so that would seem to be a bug.

that is possible, i had experienced that during brave's start up after reboot, Chrome Safe Storage Control would ask for password as i had password stored on its password manager

Nothing there I could find that has anything to do with Chrome or any Google product.
