The New Nvidia Graphic Drivers Set 525, which came up tonight in the Update Manger pretty much wrecked by system, causing insane bars and flickering on all sub menus, and within Firefox. Just Terrible. This update should be revoked A.S.A.P. It causes the very problems, it says it was fixing (in Notes)... none of which I had, UNTIL I installed the update.
Thank heavens for TIMESHIFT, which saved the day!
If you are going to install ANYTHING from Nvidia, please consider doing a full backup first... This has happened repeatedly in the past. I believe their team does not do due diligence and testing before uploading updates, to be tested by the masses.
Ugh.
