1. Create two key combo to launch
cinnamon-settings keyboard
. I chose super+F12
for this2. I use xdotool and created the command below
xdotool key super+F12 sleep 0.2 key "Control_L+Tab" sleep 0.18 key "Return" sleep 0.15 key "Shift+Tab" key "End" key "Alt+F10"
and assigned the hotkey combo of super+k
The problem is regardless of the . sleep ...number... If it's been a good while ( say easily more than 10 minutes) since the last time I used super+k together. It will launch cinnamon-settings keyboard, but it will only maximize aka perform the ALT+F10 function at the end instead of all the in between keystrikes == ctrl+tab, pressing Return and Shift+Tab and End
Now if I close it regardless of how, and then try super+k again..It works as it should
I'd like to know if there is a better way to do this...such as maybe some extended version of the command
cinnamon-settings keyboard
I've tried :
cinnamon-settings keyboard shortcuts
cinnamon-settings keyboard;shortcuts
cinnamon-settings keyboard; shortcuts
cinnamon-settings keyboard:shortcuts
cinnamon-settings keyboard: shortcuts
cinnamon-settings keyboard :shortcuts
cinnamon-settings keyboard,shortcuts
cinnamon-settings keyboard, shortcuts
cinnamon-settings keyboard ,shortcuts
cinnamon-settings keyboard-shortcuts
cinnamon-settings keyboard- shortcuts
cinnamon-settings keyboard -shortcuts
cinnamon-settings keyboard - shortcuts
and of course all of those combinations with the word " shortcuts" capitalized with first letter..no dice
Is there a simpler way I'm missing here? An internet search only yields how to create keyboard shortcuts...not a way to directly launch straight to accessing Custom Shortcuts within the Keyboard Shortcuts ...then Shortcuts button at top and then Custom Shortcuts tab on the left with my xdotool idea
