Use Warpinator with other OSes (Linux, Windows, Android, iOS)

If you use Warpinator to share files on your home network you may like to learn you can also use it with other OSes.

Linux:

A work around for MacOS:

Install VirtualBox on to MacOS. Create a Linux Mint VM. Set up the Linux Mint VM with a shared folder (accessible by the VM and MacOS). Setup the Linux Mint VM network to use bridged connectivity to the network port of the MacOS machine.
Boot the Linux Mint VM and start up Warpinator. Warpinator should be setup to use the same parameters as the rest of the Warpinators. With all of that, the Linux Mint VM should see other Warpinators running on the LAN. Transfer files between Warpinators as usual.

Files outbound to other Linux Mint machines from MacOS:

Transfer the file(s) from MacOS to the Linux Mint VM using the shared folder. Then transfer from the Linux Mint VM on the MacOS machine to the destination Linux Mint machine.

Files inbound to the MacOS machine:

Transfer the file(s) to the Linux Mint VM from the other Linux Mint machine(s). Then transfer the file(s) from the Linux Mint VM to MacOS using the shared folder.

I was having trouble getting Warpinator on my Linux Mint and Winpinator (on a Win11 pc) to communicate until I discovered they can't establish a connection if both connection profiles are set to Automatic.
Under Warpinator or Winpinator Preferences/Connections, as well as setting your group code, you need to select the network interface you want to use on at least one of your machines.
You can manually select the same connection interface on each machine, that'll work fine. But both in Auto doesn't work (at least on my machines)

Norton is simply false-positive bloatware..useless these days. Winpinator is not dangerous and yes that is the official site
