Repeated updates to org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.nividia-525-*

Over the past few weeks I have had more than 10 updates to org.freedesktop.Platform.GL.nividia-525 . For example today I have updates to 525-78-01, 525-85-05 and 525-89-02. . What is going on ? I don't use all these drivers. Driver manager tells me that I have the recommended driver installed, which is 525.89.02-0ubuntu0.22.04.1

None of the selected updates provided by update manager gets installed after I click the 'install updates' button.
There is no error message either.

Is this a user error ?

It sounds like you have flatpaks installed. They have their own updates for Nvidia drivers which are separate from the ones you see in Update Manager.

Flatpaks will install their own graphics drivers/stubs in order for the flatpak to work properly.

Can I safely remove the flatpak form of the nVidia drivers (as I prefer to either wait for the 'Mint' updates to be presented, or I get an updated driver directly from the nVidia web-site)?

Not if you want your flatpak apps to work properly. Please check the topic Where do all these Flatpak updates come from? to get an idea of what these are and which ones you can safely remove.
