Hello!
I've been looking for answers and I believe there might be some on the forums already, maybe I do not search well.
I recently installed Linux Mint 20.3 - Mate in 64-bit on a new machine. I use already this system on 2 other machines.
I lost some basic programs in the 'Preferences' Start Menu like :
- Display - to change screen resolution, etc.
- Appearance - to change desktop background image for example.
Can I just reinstall a package?
I tried installing 'gnome-system-tools' but it seemed already up-to-date: (3.0.0-9ubuntu1)
Have a good day or evening and thanks a lot for your time.

Re: Mint 20.3 MATE - Cannot find preferences programs like Display
Will it launch from terminal?
If not try terminal command:
log out and back in again and check for the missing utilitied.
Code: Select all
mate-display-properties
Code: Select all
apt reinstall mate-control-center
Everything in life was difficult before it became easy.

Hello!
thanks a lot for your reply.
Using this code (mate-display-properties) in the terminal, I noticed that it was not installed (anymore?) .
I tried to reinstall it, using your second code, it was not possible, so I managed to simply reinstall the package with this
Aaaannnd.... it worked!
Thanks a lot for pointing which package to look at.
