I read this on another post at Wilders forum:

Iron is nothing but someone packaging Chromium for Windows and naming it something different. Chromium is the open-source version of Chrome. Chromium is the base Google uses for Chrome -- they simply take the source code of Chromium, add their logo, their tracking, and that's it. Chromium is updated more frequently and is more bleeding edge.

You can read the differences here:
http://code.google.com/p/chromium/wiki/ ... ogleChrome

Personally I don't trust anything but the bigger names like FF and Opera at the moment...

Yes I know what Iron is. It's Chromium source with added features or lack of them whichever way you look at it. Depends whether you want privacy or not.

I've been looking for reasons to be impressed by Chrome/Chromium ever since it came out.

Each time I try it I just get disappointed.

Disappointed with what?

Honestly I kind of agree in that Chrome has been a bit of a disappointment. If I want "full featured" then Firefox fits the bill like no other can. If I want blistering speed, then Midori is easily my first choice. If I want the happy medium in between, then I use Opera. Honestly I'm hard pressed to find anything that Chrome is doing "better" than any other browser in particular. Is it unique and interesting...yes. Is it my first choice in anything...no.

I did some heavy testing with Chrome today and I completely understand where some people will love it, but it's not for me...not yet anyway.

I need full featured. For me FF is the only browser that fits the bill.

If you just need a basic browser Chrome is fine.

I need my extensions, Chrome only supports some. And I want to use rich text editors in certain forums and Chrome doesn't support that, very annoying.

I have been using the google chrome browser beta, due to it having some extensions I need for a game I play, I think it is far faster than firefox. However I have found that sometime it can be a struggle some times with its interfaces, they can become tedious, but this is personal prefrences not hard criticism of the browser. I have tried Opera but i am really not a great fan, however again it is quicker than firefox.

What's wrong with the Interface?

I love it, because it's simple and clear

I find some of the menus over simplified and some of the phrasing a little patronising.

I'm absolutely amazed at how much faster Chrome is compered to firefox, both on windows and Linux Mint. I'm actually so impressed that I'm considering using it as my default browser from now on.

But! The really anoying con that I have is the AdBlock extension. On firefox you could block domains if you wanted, I don't see any similar solution on Chrome's equevelent. It's to simplifyed...

The only complaint I have so far with Chrome is it seems to bog down after using some flash heavy sites and doesn't seem to release the memory as it says it does. I need to spend some time digging into it.
