Microphone Unitek Y-247A not working

Post by manikos »

Hello and greetings to the community from Greece :)

I have a problem regarding my internal sound card. Suddenly, my microphone stopped working and is not recognized. I don't have a special mic, just my phone's wired hands-free which I always talked with them (I still use them with my phone and work great).

I installed pavucontrol but still no luck since the Input Devices tab is empty. I tried alsamixer, I select the device which controls the sound, I see the mic bar and it's not muted.

Code: Select all

➜ ~ inxi -AS
System:
  Host: nick Kernel: 5.15.0-72-generic x86_64 bits: 64
Desktop: Cinnamon 5.4.12 Distro: Linux Mint 21 Vanessa
Audio:
Device-1: AMD Renoir Radeon High Definition Audio driver: snd_hda_intel
  Device-2: AMD Raven/Raven2/FireFlight/Renoir Audio Processor driver: N/A
Device-3: AMD Family 17h HD Audio driver: snd_hda_intel
Device-4: C-Media Audio Adapter (Unitek Y-247A) type: USB
    driver: cmedia_hs100b,snd-usb-audio,usbhid
  Sound Server-1: ALSA v: k5.15.0-72-generic running: yes
  Sound Server-2: PulseAudio v: 15.99.1 running: yes
  Sound Server-3: PipeWire v: 0.3.48 running: yes
What else can I do? Thank you very much even if you have read this :)
Nick
