Live boot inxi is OK, but installed OS boot is better if available.when I plug in my HDD LM 21 it boot sometimes
Re: boot or no boot
the machine will boot and you get to the selection for LM,
but when you try to boot to LM
or use advanced to boot into recovery mode you just get black screen
what could this be?
is there a way to get to terminal and try uprgade?

Re: boot or no boot
Most times, a black screen with a GPU card indicates a problem with the GPU driver (wrong one for your card?)
The first thing I'd try is to boot into your UEFI/BIOS, disable the GPU and use the onboard video graphics. If that causes no booting issues, then you know what the problem is.

There may be a way, but I don't know how to do it.is there a way to get to terminal and try uprgade?
I would not bother. Upgrading rarely gets rid of a problem like this.
A new install very well might fix the problem, but probably not an upgrade.
Re: boot or no boot
mo asus mobo only has onboard graphics, so no GPU
Re: boot or no boot
the new PC does boot, but it will lock up sometimes.
is there a way or process to try and trouble shoot the pc to see if it is PC config, graphics card or kernel?
