For the past, several years, every time I've upgraded Mint, I've had to run a series of steps to install udev "rules" for my RTL-SDRs. With the latest install (21.1 Cinnamon), I didn't realize I had not done that, but the RTL-SDRs were working just fine. When I did run the steps (adding a rule under "/etc/udev/rules.d/" as well as setting a "blacklist" for "/etc/modprobe.d/"), my system would no longer connect to my various RTL-SDRs.
I've since removed the udev and blacklist rules, and everything is working fine. Just curious as to what those "udev" rules were doing, and why Mint "just works" with them now.
Question on udev for RTL-SDR - no longer needed?
