[SOLVED] Qnap QXG-2G1T-I225 not working

Post by 7-Oz »

I didn't managed to get it work!!
Plugged the card in pcie slot, mint xfce don't see it, even if i make a lspci and do a modprobe igc, nothing happened, could you please help me to install this card (i can only see the light flashing back on computer).
I 've currently a intel 82579v in use with kernel module "driver : e1000", but nothing about the qnap.

Code: Select all

$ lspci -k -nn | grep -A 3 -i net

I would try with disabled onboard LAN in bios/uefi and also with the 6.1 kernel.

Welcome to the forum, 7-Oz.

The product page QXG-2G1T-I225 has a link to "Please check the compatibility list for your NAS". Did you check that?

Also, the data you posted indicates you are using the 5.15 kernel and not the 6.1-oem senjoz suggested to try. You can install the latest 6.1-oem kernel with

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install linux-oem-22.04c
and reboot.

Thank you SMG!!!
Even with the kernel 6.1, still the same result, all my pci slot are populated and "in use", i don't understand why it is not working, i found this but the commands returns error https://gitlab.com/-/snippets/2046235

i try with onboard lan enabled/disabled in bios
See above screenshot if you find something wrong.

Re: Qnap QXG-2G1T-I225 not working

Post by senjoz »

I do not know if it is normal, PCIE_X8_2A and PCIE_X8_2B have the same bus address, 0000:02:01.0. Can this be the problem? Try to insert QXG in another PCIe slot.

EDIT: Can we see complete output of terminal command lspci -nnk without grep, please, and your system information inxi -Fxxxrz.

Many thanks for taking the time to help me!!!!

@senjoz, you point in the right direction, changing pci slot worked, i don't know what happened to this pci slot (works now with a pci usb 3.0 card)

Code: Select all

lspci -k -nn | grep -A 3 -i net

Again thank you
