Hi all, new user running Helena here, pretty happy all in all, dabbled around with some settings, did some terminal stuff but now i have a question:
I downloaded new NVIDIA Drivers Ver. 190.53 and got it installed. Then I ran the configuration. Now I have a new Xconfig in etc. So far so good. But I still can't change screen resolution using the "Display" application. When I start that app it first alerts me that "your graphic drivers does not support the necessary extensions to use this tool. Do you want to use you graphics drivers vendor's tool instead?"
When I say Yes NVIDIA X Server Settings pops up where I can set resolution among other stuff. BUT I can't save those changes to Xconfig. Now I suppose this is because I don't run the tool as root meaning it has no write access to that file.
So I suppose my question is, how can I start that app as root? Or do I have to edit the xconfig from within the terminal?
Thanks for your help!
