My latest screenshot of Mint-8 with my famous single-line conky.

I sincerely hope the background image does not offend anyone ... it was not meant, as such

(Just needs the Mint menu graphic from KDE edition to be perfect, IMO)

Theme comprises of QDrk metacity and QdarkX GTK themes, Footure icons (Gnomelook) and wallpaper from some wallpaper site I happened to google to one night whilst drunk! (will share if wanted its WXGA res though.)

Nice! Great Job. :D

My newest latest LinuxMint-8 Xfce desktop. Nothing special ... simplicity.

Great wallpaper ... don't you think? I really do like Inkscape better than Gimp.

. . . Hey, where's my Conky ?? . . .

Howdy... :-)

I'm running Linux Mint Helena. My modifications include a custom panel arrangement and installation of Gloria's wallpaper. For Mozilla Firefox, I installed the "Hide Menubar" extension so it integrates better with a desktop running Gnome2-Globalmenu.

Here's how my laptop is arranged at present:

Image
  • (You may need to right-click the above image and select "View Image" from the popup menu in order to see the desktop in its entirety; the forum formatting engine seems to be clipping the right side of the graphic when viewed inline.

    Screenshot captured using
Shutter, which can be added through the Ubuntu repositories.)
Panel Applets (Clockwise from Top Left, Spacers not Listed):
  • Top Panel:
    • 1. mintMenu
      2. Gnome2-Globalmenu
      3. Weather Report
      4. Clock
      5. Notification Area
      6. Log Out...
      7. Shut Down...
    Bottom Panel:
    • 8. Force Quit
      9. System Monitor
      10. Window List
      11. Workspace Switcher
      12. Lock Screen
      13. Show Desktop
It may look "drab" compared to the other screenshots on here, but I like the simplicity... :-)

Awesome!

Quick question: What gadget/widget engine are you using for the applets depicted along the right side of the screen?

I believe those are google gadgets, they are in synaptic, same base as the ones I use, just I selected different ones and auto run them with ggl-gtk -ns

Hi everyone, just wanted to upload a sweet lxde that i use for gaming.

THE BEST PART!
Image

If you can't read it, that screen shows my entire os loaded in at about 115 megs, and it looks pretty sweet too :D

I would strongly recommend all of you to try lxde as its default layout is just a stepping stone, and your computer will absolutely fly with it installed.

Lumenary,

hemimanic is right - google gadgets. Just open Synaptic and type google-gadgets in the search box.

Why are office supplies coming out of her skirt?
It's a long story. She's a character in horror/supernatural anime called Bakemonogatari.
