LMDE 6 HyperV LUKS - Keyboard not working to enter pswd

When specifying luks full disk encryption during installation and then restarting, the keyboard is unresponsive at the screen to type in the luks password. Interestingly enough though, the keyboard works where I can specify "e" at start-up to remove "splash" from grub to get the text-based prompt, but the keyboard does not work on the text-based prompt either. Has anyone else experienced this? Using Windows 11 Pro 22H2 latest patches, [HyperV, no secure boot, no TPM set, Gen2], all lower-case on computer name, username, etc. (as this seems to be a bug in LMDE 6).
