[Solved] Mate panel changes - weather gone?

With one of the updates (no idea which one), my panel clock applet (the default one) no longer shows the weather icon, even though it is check to show on the properties. further, I now have a microphone icon showing that I never had before. Any idea what happened, and how I can revert or modify the panel? thanks - elmar

Tried the substitution commands, nothing changed.
