Is there a way to enable guest session desktop warning message in Linux Mint Mate?

I'm trying out the various editions of Linux Mint. One of the features I want to use is guest sessions (guest login), so I've tried this in all editions.
I've noticed that when I login to a guest session in both Cinnamon and Xfce, the following useful warning message pops up immediately after login:

Temporary Guest Session: All data created during this guest session will be deleted when you log out, and settings will be reset to defaults. Please save files on some external device, for instance a USB stick, if you would like to access them again later.

However, it doesn't appear when logging into a guest session in MATE.

Is there a way to get it to appear in MATE?
